Your Unique Birth Center Experience
Clients often tell us that our birth center offers home-like comfort with spa-like feel. Each room is equipped with a large, deep birth tub, designed for laboring in water as well as waterbirth. We also offer nitrous oxide and a TENS unit as options to support your labor experience. We encourage clients to explore all birthing and comfort options prior to their due date so we can fully customize their unique birth experience.
The Mount Vernon Birth Center has off-street parking. Please enter at the side entrance across from the parking lot.
Nitrous Oxide
To help make your birth experience as comfortable as possible, we offer nitrous oxide to help with labor pain. Also known as "laughing gas", nitrous oxide is a tasteless, odorless gas that when used, helps ease anxieties and encourages a state of relaxation. Clients say that it helps them to cope with the big sensations of labor and birth.
Nitrous oxide is self-administered, meaning you have control over how much you want to use it, or if you want to stop and try a different method of pain relief.
